Ariens Rototiller

When making an investment as serious as a rototiller, it is best to understand a little about the products you are considering purchasing. It simply does not make sense to buy a tool that could potentially last you the remainder of your life without first studying the pros and cons of the potential options. This page will inform you about one type of rototiller, the Ariens Rototiller. By the end of this intro, we hope you will know a little bit about the Ariens Rototiller and you will be able to decide for yourself whether this is the right tiller for you.

The Ariens Rototiller is no newcomer to the rototiller industry. In fact, Ariens has withstood the test of time and has won the satisfaction of many happy customers. Ariens has a rich history in the United States which deserves a little discussion. In the 1930’s Ariens — then a small family business — worked hard to develop the first American made rototiller. During this period, most individuals purchased rototillers from overseas, making Ariens a true pioneer in American made rototillers. Not only was Ariens working at developing an American classic, but the people of Ariens invested time teaching commercial growers how their rototiller worked. These early American models were unique because they were powered with an air-cooled engine.

By the 1940’s Ariens had succeeded at helping the agricultural industry understand just how beneficial rototillers are. By this time, there was a demand for greater quantities of food and old methodologies of horse and plow were proving to be ineffective. Ariens helped remedy this problem by developing a tractor which tilled up to 16 rows at a time. Moreover, Ariens developed a wide variety of rototillers which were specialized for various types of soil preparation. Ariens truly helped shape the way modern agriculture came to be. And it is from this experience that Ariens continues to draw from today when developing and manufacturing the modern Ariens Rototillers.

Today Ariens continues to put superior rototillers on the market. Their front tine tiller (as opposed to the rear tine rototiller) is one of their more popular rototillers. This line is relatively new to the market but is already receiving good customer reviews. The front tine Ariens Rototiller is powered by a Subaru 6 horse power engine and tills 24” of earth at a time. It tills 6” deep but it retains an ease of maneuverability at the same time. This model is designed to be easy to operate and it is rugged enough to be productive and powerful for use throughout a long job.

The Rear Tine Ariens Rototiller is also a popular model. Like the Front Tine Ariens Rototiller, this line is powered by a Subaru 6 horse power engine. The key differences are that it tills 17” of earth at a time, and it tills 6.5” deep. So although the Rear Tine Ariens Rototiller does not till as wide as the Front Tine tiller, it does go deeper into the earth. This model is also easy to maneuver and is assembled with rugged and long lasting materials.
